I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Jake Paul's History

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the match is actually happening.
